Bhimkund is one of the majestic waterfalls in the rifts of Satpura mountain range. The Bhimkund got its prominence due to its relevance found in the ancient mythological scripts. The reservoir is believed to have been built during the period of the Pandavas' exile, which is estimated to be around 13th century BC. The site is considered to be a symbol of Bhima's strength and valor, as well as his concern for the well-being of his family and followers. According to legend, Bhima a mythical figure from Mahabharata washed his hands after having a fierce battle with then king of the Gawilgarh who was having a bad eye on his wife Droupadi during their exile. Some people say Bhima created this water reservoir by hitting the ground with his elbow to quench the thirst of his brothers and wife Draupadi during their exile.
